Does removing torrents after downloading help

Maybe this is why I'm left with so many. I got your email. I understand what it feels like to be stuck without an answer, so as much as I didn't want to reopen this can of worms, if I can get it working on my system then it should work for you as well. Now when a torrent finishes downloading you have the file you downloaded and the torrent file remaining in whatever folder you downloaded it to. This is what I think you guys are looking for, as I was.

I've done my best to include every detail I could in the operation, so if you still can't get it to work for you please do your best to give me every detail as well. Not sure if you'd even benefit from that information, but I thought I'd mention it. I'm resubscribing to this thread so let me know how it goes matomena and giyad.

Well I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64bit, so I'm hoping the problem isn't that. I also upgraded to uTorrent 2. The upgrade didn't solve anything for me, I have the "1" for gui. I tried to download a torrent, then when it was completed, I deleted it from the list using the red "X" using the red "x" as opposed to the delete key on my keyboard shouldn't make a difference, and it doesn't so far.

However, the other method you gave me of going to directories and checking all those boxes sort of worked. It worked because the torrent was now being stored in the Downloads folder and when it was done, it deletes I think because of the "Delete loaded. But, this doesn't change anything because the temp file is still stored in the temp directory. Before, I only had the temp file, but now I have the temp file and a new.

I ended up removing all the checkboxes from the Directories preference. With regards to the system resources, I haven't had that experience at all. I do have 8gb of RAM on a 64 bit architecture, so that definitely helps, but the only thing that slows down for me is surfing the web thats because my airport extreme doesn't have QoS. Although, since you mentioned it I thought I'd monitor and since I opened up uTorrent 2 minutes ago it has gone from 5M up to Actually, nevermind, it just started decreasing now and hovers between M If the.

Well, I guess I'll just have to stick to manually deleting the original files. I have DHT enabled. Start new topic. Recommended Posts. This is already implemented in the beta. Not send to recycle-bin, but you can change the default delete action. Send to recycle bin is implemented, right click on the X icon and check "Move to trash if possible".

I just want the listing to be removed since it is finished seeding I no longer want to see it in the list. And you will never see such an option. Remove it yourself. Make sure you actually SEED the torrent before doing so. I did not ask to have it removed before it is done seeding. Only after it is doing nothing but wasting a few pixels on my screen helping no one. I only want it to do something that I would do anyway and would never in a million years decrease seeding.

In fact it would increase seeding. I find myself sometimes removing a listing even if it is seeding so that I do not have to remove it later when it is finished. So please reconsider this since it would clearly only increase seeding and if I will never see such an option will continue to reduce my seeding every now and then directly because of it. Why do you need to remove finished torrents in the first place, let alone before they've finished seeding?

Do you have any good reason? Every BitTorrent client that I have ever used has the ability to delete the torrent files and the listing when the torrent is completed seeding. I have been trying to convince the developers to add options to remove listings and delete torrent files when the torrent has completed seeding. This would not be a problem for anyone since the file would already be finished with all actions including seeding.

It would be a very small convenience option that would in fact increase seeding in some situations. I upload more then two times as much as I download by the time I have finished downloading most of the time got to love Fiber Optics.

If you want infinite seeding get eMule. Bittorrent is based on short and fast. I paused another torrent, which had just reached its time seeding requirement for my tracker 24 hours. It instantly got deleted as well.

BUT, and this is worrying, this happened without honoring the indexer configuration which, as you can see in the picture above, I set at 1, minutes 25 hours. Sonarr does not track the seeding time internally, it will set the seeding goals for some clients when torrents are added, but qbit is not one of them.

I use transmission as well so mine get deleted automatically as soon as they begin to download. You can delete it right after it begins to download because as it was explained to me the. After your on and the journey begins, you no longer need the ticket. I just delete them when they are older than 6 months. First of all we all know torrenting is kinda illegal. Quite honestly due to the reason that a lot of company suffers a big lost because of this they have asked help from the law to take down sites or block it so that nobody can access it.

And the pretty good example is The Pirate Bay, good thing a lot of people so love and are a big fan of Pirate Bay a lot of proxy sites have risen. This question is in the General Section.
